Ready to be loved by Enewerome

💍 Genre: Christian Romance

⭐️ Rating: ★★★★★

My Thoughts

Ready to Be Loved by You is a heartwarming Christian romance that blends faith, love, and healing beautifully. Enewerome doesn’t shy away from tackling tough themes—anxiety, grief, strained family bonds, and doubt—while still delivering a sweet love story.

The Story (Spoilers Ahead 🚨)

We meet Levi, a wedding planner who struggles with anxiety after losing his cousin years ago. Entrusted with planning an entire wedding by himself, he’s determined to make sure everything goes perfectly. Deep down, Levi longs for a love like the ones he sees at the weddings he organizes.

On the other side, there’s Vivienne, who grew up craving her father’s affection but always felt “not enough.” Fresh out of school and job hunting, she agrees to stand in as maid of honor at her cousin’s wedding when a friend can’t make it. But nothing goes smoothly then she loses her veil, the rain makes her late, and her first run-in with Levi is a disaster. (Water is spilled, tempers flare, and words are exchanged.)

Despite the rocky start, Vivienne catches the attention of the bride and is offered other maid-of-honor gigs. She also gets connected with Levi’s event planning team. Their paths keep crossing, and while Vivienne is determined to stay civil, Levi regrets his outburst and works hard to earn her forgiveness turning to prayer and patience.

The turning point comes with… mangoes! 🍋 Sharing them breaks the ice, and soon friendship blossoms. Levi even builds a blog for Vivienne, and they begin to open up about their wounds, his cousin’s death and her broken relationship with her father. Levi encourages her to reconcile with her dad and, most importantly, renew her relationship with God.

But Vivienne resists love. Her parents’ marriage was toxic, and she fears repeating the same mistakes. When her father falls sick, she feels torn between resentment and responsibility. Meanwhile, Levi continues to model grace and faith, showing her what forgiveness looks like. Eventually, Vivienne makes peace with her father, who sincerely apologizes for the hurt he caused her.

Still, a major conflict arises: Levi wants a relationship rooted in God, but Vivienne has no faith. She quits her job, blocks Levi, and tries to move on. But God continues working in her life. Through her father’s miraculous healing and her own realizations, Vivienne finally accepts God’s love and gives her life to Christ.

In the end, Vivienne and Levi reunite, start over, and—yes—get married. 💕

Why I Loved It

  1. The faith journey felt real. It wasn’t rushed, and Vivienne’s doubts were relatable.
  2. Levi’s character is such a refreshing portrayal of a Christian man, imperfect, prayerful, and patient.
  3. The mango scene! A sweet, symbolic reminder that love can grow in the simplest acts.
  4. The balance of romance & faith. The love story is tender, but the deeper theme is God’s redeeming love.

Final Thoughts

Ready to Be Loved by You is more than a romance, it’s a story about healing, forgiveness, and letting God’s love lead. If you enjoy Christian fiction that makes you both swoon and reflect, this book is worth reading.

DREAM COUNT BY CHIMAMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE

Some books speak to your mind; others reach into your memory and stir emotions long buried.  Dreams Count  by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is one of those rare books that does both. Set during the eerie silence of the lockdown era—a time marked by fear of the unknown—this novel took me back to those uncertain days. It reminded me of the fear, the forced stillness, the moments of introspection, and how people coped: some by pretending nothing was happening, others by giving in to hopelessness, and some—like the characters in this story—by clinging to their dreams. At the center of it all is  Chiamaka , or  Chia , whose life is a mirror to many women’s experiences. Caught between longing for love and the harsh reality of receiving only emotional crumbs, she loses herself trying to become what someone else desires. Her relationship with  Darnell —emotionally manipulative, selfish, dismissive—is painful to watch. His insults are veiled as jokes, and his nonchalance feel...

📖 Book Review: It Started With I Do by Amaka Azie

Have you ever felt neglected, disappointed, or made to feel like you’re not enough — to the point where you start questioning your choice of a life partner? That moment when you doubt everything, including the very existence of your relationship? This is where we meet  Udoka and Iriah . Two people trying to navigate love, marriage, expectations, and identity. Udoka  is a man struggling with balance. A perfectionist and perhaps even an extremist — driven by the desire to measure up, especially because of the family he married into. In his pursuit of success and validation, he overlooks the one thing his wife desperately needs: attention, affection, and emotional presence. Small gestures, big gestures — they all matter. That’s a lesson we can all take home. Iriah , on the other hand, wants what many women long for — to be seen, cherished, respected. But even she must confront her own struggles with trust and dependence. I loved the way Amaka weaved in supporting characters like...
